DRi is pleased to announce the placement of a Development Officer for Major Gifts and a Manager of Donor Relations at Carnegie Institution for Science, an institution that is home to researchers working at the cutting edge of their fields.

These searches continued an established partnership between DRi and Carnegie Science, as it continues to build out a robust fundraising team. These new team members will collaborate with other development staff, scientists, and institutional partners to help grow the culture of philanthropy across Carnegie Science, its partners, and donors.

Today we congratulate Lisa Harter on becoming Carnegie Science’s Development Officer for Major Gifts, and Amanda Marcucci for becoming Manager of Donor Relations.

Lisa has worked in fundraising for the past 25 years, starting her career on the west coast before relocating to the D.C. area to work at the Inova Health System Foundation, where she oversaw annual giving, direct mail, and employee giving. For the past 14 years, Lisa has been with the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Services, most recently cultivating major and principal gifts from University donors.

Amanda brings an expertise in donor communications and a passion for problem solving to the Carnegie Science team. Prior to her new role, Amanda specialized in donor communications strategy, working at the International Fund for Animal Welfare for the past year and for six years prior at Impact Communications, a leading fundraising communications firm. She has a multi-faceted communications perspective developed through diverse non-profit projects over the past seven years.

Congratulations to Lisa, Amanda, and Carnegie Science – we look forward to watching the Carnegie Institution for Science continue to flourish.

DRi is pleased to announce the completion of our search for a Director of Human Resources at Community Change, an organization that is dedicated to building the power and capacity of low-income people.

DRi’s Managing Director Sherry Ettleson partnered with Community Change President Dorian Warren to identify a Director to manage nationwide employee relations for a staff of more than 80 professionals. The HR Director would join Community Change at a key moment of transition, with responsibility for ensuring that employee needs would be met and all employee voices would be heard as the organization began a large and complex transformation.

We are excited that Kim Huckabone has accepted this role at Community Change. Kim has been serving as Interim HR Director and is thrilled to join the organization full time. Kim was previously HR Director for the Council for a Strong America, Human Resources Director for the Mid-Atlantic Region at Phoenix House, and Executive HR Director at America’s Promise Alliance. She has had an extensive career in HR, with responsibility for developing staffing strategy and fostering a customer service orientation that fully supports staff members. In addition to her considerable HR experience, Kim has additional experience overseeing finance and administration.

We congratulate Kim and Community Change—we look forward to seeing their success together.
