DRi is delighted to announce the completion of our search for a President and General Manager at Louisville Public Media and we congratulate Stephen George on his appointment to the role.
DRi worked with the Board of Trustees at LPM to design an executive search that reflected the institution’s profound commitment to local community. We engaged both Board members and staff throughout the organization at every phase of candidate recruitment and assessment to identify a President and General Manager who could sustain LPM’s impressive record of growth as a convener of local partnerships in journalism, art and cultural programming, and digital media.
After an extensive interview process, the Board announced its appointment of Interim President Stephen George to be LPM’s new President and General Manager.
Stephen George joined Louisville Public Media as executive editor in 2015. He led a restructuring of LPM’s news operations that resulted in audience growth across broadcast and digital platforms. He also spearheaded multiple new initiatives and partnerships, including the regional journalism collaborative Ohio Valley ReSource, a news partnership with the Spanish-language newspaper Al Día en América, and LPM’s acquisition of Do502.com. Under George’s leadership, Louisville Public Media has received national recognition, including a Kaleidoscope Award for its coverage of diversity in the community and a Peabody Award for “The Pope’s Long Con.” Prior to his career in public media, George served as editor of the Nashville City Paper and LEO Weekly.
We congratulate LPM and Stephen George. We look forward to seeing your continued success together!
