Development Resources Inc. (DRi) is delighted to announce the placement of Peggy O’Neill as Chief Advancement Officer at Concern Worldwide U.S.

Peggy’s placement is the culmination of a multi-faceted partnership between DRi and Concern U.S.’s new Chief Executive Officer Colleen Kelly. DRi joined Kelly to help her accomplish one of her first strategic goals as CEO: to re-energize and ambitiously re-imagine a comprehensive fundraising program for the Ireland-headquartered international development organization, to coincide with its 50th anniversary in 2018. Based on an assessment that DRi completed, we helped Kelly design a new staff structure for the development department, led the search for a leader with oversight responsibility for a newly integrated development and communications program, and coached the staff on ways to capitalize on Concern’s anniversary while we the search was underway.

In June 2018, Peggy O’Neill will become a partner to Kelly as the leader of the newly designed fundraising program. O’Neill has more than 20 years of experience leading large-scale fund development and communications programs for a variety of organizations that seek to empower people on a global scale.

In her most recent role as Vice President of Strategic Partnerships for The Freedom Fund, O’Neill developed a comprehensive 18-month fundraising strategy to raise $10 million to address modern-day human slavery. In her previous role at Helen Keller International (HKI), O’Neill was responsible for the overall management and execution of a diversified fund development and communications strategy that matches the scope of Concern U.S.’s ambitions, with successful major giving, special events, direct mail, online fundraising/communications campaigns, media outreach, and planned giving.

We extend enthusiastic congratulations to Concern Worldwide U.S. and Peggy O’Neill. We look forward to seeing the success they achieve together.

(DRi) is delighted to announce the placement of Essence Newhoff as Sitar Arts Center's Senior Director of Development. DRi worked with Sitar Arts Center’s Executive Director Maureen Dwyer to align its fundraising leadership with the Center’s new strategic plan. In close partnership with Dwyer, we engaged Board members and major donors at Sitar to design a search for a new Senior Director of Development, who would be charged with expanding the fundraising program to match a planned expansion of the Center’s geographic reach and the connection of more D.C. families with educational resources in the midst of rapid gentrification. We guided a diverse range of Board members and candidates through a careful search process that sought to identify fundraisers who could build community ties with new major donors. We are proud to have recruited Essence Newhoff to become a partner to Dwyer and the Center’s Board.  Newhoff most recently served as a partner to the CEO of the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), where she helped to carve out and institutionalize a critical COO role. In addition to this high-level experience, Newhoff brings a deep background in D.C. arts communities to Sitar. She previously worked at the Folger Shakespeare Library for 11 years, where she worked collaborated with an academic director to lead a transformational shift to a major donor program, grow the annual fund, and build systems and staff for long-term success. We extend enthusiastic congratulations to the Sitar Arts Center and to Essence Newhoff. We look forward to the success they achieve together."
