DRi’s leaders have worked with development teams to create transformative strategic fundraising plans and build capacity for non-profits in every sector, from international NGOs to national membership organizations to local food banks. We understand that the most effective fundraising programs are fully integrated into non-profit organizations: a fundraising strategy must align with an organization’s mission in order to secure the resources required to advance it and must be factored into an organization’s staffing structure and budgets in order to ensure that revenue can be most profitably utilized. Partnership-based Planning

Plans are only as good as their implementation, and the only way to ensure that a fundraising plan will be implemented is to engage fundraising stakeholders at every stage of the plan’s development. DRi works with Board members and Chief Executive Officers, Vice Presidents and Directors of Development, and development, communications, finance, and program staff in order to create a comprehensive vision of the role your fundraising department will play in your non-profit. Working closely with specially formed task forces, we work together to gather and assess information and develop the highest-priority plans, ensuring the creation of an actionable plan.

Comprehensive Plans

By working with development teams, DRi creates a set of specific recommendations that address all the core elements of a sustainable and diversified fundraising program. Our plans make specific recommendations regarding all of the following factors:

  • Fundraising Strategies: including the appropriate fundraising vehicles, target audiences, pipeline development tactics, and recommended involvement of current and prospective Board members
  • Infrastructure: including policies and standard operating procedures for a full range of development activities—such as gift acceptance and donor recognition—as well as recommended technological systems and processes
  • Staff Structure: including recommended position functions, formal job descriptions, prioritization of staffing needs, and benchmarked salary ranges
  • Fundraising Collateral: including messaging for a case for support and communications collateral
  • Evaluative Tools: including specific goals and objectives, a calendar of implementation, and progress indicators and metrics
  • Budget: including operational and programmatic expenses and proposed prioritization of expenditures
