Development Resources inc. (DRi) recently finished working with Executive Director Rob Judge at Seton Shrine to build new leadership to triple the Shrine’s philanthropic revenue by 2022. We are excited to announce our placement of Christopher Harmon as Seton Shrine’s new Director of Major & Planned Giving.
Seton Shrine celebrates a remarkable woman: Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton, the first citizen born in the United States to receive the title of saint. Seton founded the Sisters of Charity of St. Joseph’s, the first community for religious women established in the United States, and only a year later created St. Joseph’s Academy and Free School, planting the seeds of Catholic education in the country. Her distinctive contributions to women’s history, education, and the Catholic faith, even in the face of personal hardship and loss, have provided inspiration and encouragement to countless people.
DRi worked with Executive Director Rob Judge to help attract support for Seton Shrine and share its history and beauty far and wide. Under Judge’s leadership, Seton Shrine had increased its annual visitorship to 60,000 people in fiscal year 2017. The shrine had adopted an ambitious plan that aimd to increase giving levels from a donor base of nearly 46,000 and to more than triple the Shrine’s philanthropic revenue by 2022. To achieve these goals, DRi helped build Seton Shrine’s development leadership with a new Director of Major & Planned Giving.
DRi was delighted to recruit Chris Harmon to this position. Chris brings 22 years of development leadership to Seton Shrine, including leadership in annual giving, major and planned gifts, alumni giving, and donor research. During his tenure at Gettysburg College, Chris closed major gifts supporting numerous initiatives, including the Sunderman Conservatory of Music, English Department faculty and student travel, and Department of Math scholarships and faculty and student research. In addition to his work in higher education, Chris has also worked with donors to religious institutions as Director of Development at The Benedictine School for Exceptional Children Foundation, Inc., and he brings to Seton Shrine a deep knowledge of and respect for the Catholic faith.
DRi congratulates both Chris and Seton Shrine and looks forward to their continued success.
